Woman flees RVH clad in hospital gown

A woman who made good her exit from the RVH’s mental health ward was returned to the hospital by police, but may have, police suspect, entered a number of homes in the east end.
The woman had departed the hospital clad only in a hospital gown; a short time later she was located and found to be in possession of a number of purses and a small amount of property for which she could not account.
An investigation into the break-and-enter allegation is continuing. Police request that homeowners suspecting their property may have been entered contact them at 705-725-7025.

Threats to kill didn’t go unnoticed by Barrie police when the one allegedly uttering the oaths was recognized by police at the Barrie courthouse.
On Sunday, police responded to a call from a woman who said a man had attacked her, pulling her hair and biting her. He threatened to kill her if she called police, and fled before they arrived, say police. A warrant was prepared for this arrest.
A couple of hours later, police say the same male got into an argument with a man at a variety store. According to police, the suspect spat in the other’s face and pushed him. Before leaving the store, the male threatened to kill the other man. Police were called but were unable to locate the suspect.
As it happened, the man was about to bring himself to the attention of police. On Monday he was in court on unrelated criminal matters. He was was recognized by police as the person wanted in the earlier incidents, and charged with two counts of assault, two counts of utter threats, assault, and one count of utter threats.
The male, 29, was arrested and held pending a bail hearing.
