Woman, 37 weeks pregnant, in collision

A woman 37 weeks pregnant was taken to the hospital after being involved in an alleged hit-and-run collision.
On Friday, about 10 p.m., a husband and wife were driving north on Innisfil Street. As they approached Brock Street, a vehicle allegedly ran the stop sign and collided with the front end of their car.
The suspect vehicle fled the scene, police report. The woman sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital as a precaution, given her condition.
Police seek the help of the community in identifying the vehicle, and driver, that fled that scene. It is described as an older model SUV, possibly a GMC Jimmy, flat black in colour, with a lift kit, oversized mudder tires with after market rims, and bluish tint head lights with dark tinted windows. The vehicle will have damage to the front end of the driver side and possibly along the side.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Const. Kevin Barkley at 705-725-7025, ext: 2609.
