Thieves may be targeting home: police

Barrie police are cautioning homeowners to be vigilant following thefts from south-end homes that may have been targeted.
Several residences in the city’s south end were broken into during day, Mon. Feb. 24, police report. The suspect(s) in the situation are watching the residence to determine if anyone is home. The suspect(s) have stolen property from the residence and in one instance were able to retrieve a firearm, police report.
Homeowners are reminded to lock their residences and take any safety precautions necessary.
“These particular break and enters are occurring through the daytime hours so please be mindful of any suspicious activity in your neighbourhood and contact police immediately. Do not confront the suspect(s) as they may be armed,” police caution.
