Barrie: SIU review ‘medical emergency’

UPDATE: Man transferred to RVH passes away
The Special Investigation Unit is investigating an incident in Barrie in which an intoxicated male suffered a medial emergency while in police custody, requiring treatment at the Royal Victoria Hospital.
The man, Jason Snow, 38, died on Tuesday.
On Saturday Barrie police officers were called to the Barrie bus terminal in regards to a male who appeared to be intoxicated. He was subsequently arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and transferred to the police station.
The man suffered what police describe as a “medical emergency’ while at the station. He was transferred immediately to the RVH. The SIU was contacted and an investigation is underway.
