Second body found in Barrie

Another body has been found in Barrie, upping the grisly count to two this week, both of them middle-aged men.
Yesterday (Wednesday) Barrie police responded to a call about a body found in Lackie’s Bush, near Little Avenue. It was discovered that the deceased was a 49-year-old North York resident, and that attempts are underway to locate next of kin.
The city’s Service Criminal Investigative Bureau and the Coroner’s Office are investigating the matter, however no foul play is suspected.
Police also do not suspect foul play in the death of a man pulled from the waters of Kempenfelt Bay this week.
On Tuesday afternoon police received a call from a boater near Johnson Beach regarding the body of a male floating in the water. Officers brought the body ashore.
Police say the deceased is a 55-year-old Barrie resident.
