Police seek suspects in assault

Barrie city police continue to investigate the assault of a 56-year-old Barrie man, in the downtown core on Saturday night.
Police received a call after concerned citizens assisted a victim of a robbery to the bus terminal after a seemingly unprovoked attack, police report.
Shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday, the victim, police report, was walking alone westbound on Dunlop Street East, just east of the Five Points intersection, when he was pulled into an alley by two unknown males. It is believed the victim was struck by an unknown object causing injuries to his face, head and back. The male was left in a stairway of the alley unconscious and woke to find his cell phone and cash missing from his pocket.
The victim, police report, had extensive injuries to his face and body and was treated at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre and released a short time later.
The first suspect: Male, black, about 30, small moustache, wearing a dark-coloured toque, a dark blue winter coat with 3” sewn patches throughout it.
The second suspect: Male, black, about 30, clothing descriptors not available.
