Police round up your old meds

Got some meds going stale in a kitchen cupboard or bathroom cabinet? Not sure what to do with them? Well, worry no more because local police and health services are offering a round-up for unused prescription meds.
The Barrie Police Service, in partnership with the Simcoe Muskoka Health Unit, Barrie OPP, Simcoe County Paramedics Association, and the South Simcoe Police Service, is hosting a ‘Prescription Drug Drop-Off Day’ on Saturday, May 11, 2013 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The drop-off is scripted for the health unit’s building at 15 Sperling Drive.
The initiative is part of a provincial program to encourage residents to dispose of old and unused meds in a safe manner. Police services across the province are participating.
