Police provide shelter from the elements

A woman who apparently imbibed too much spent some time with Barrie police, Monday night.
Police report that they responded to a call at an address on Dunlop Street West regarding a “drunk female who would not leave the premise.” When they arrived, police say, officers determined that the woman, 28, “was extremely drunk, loud and swearing and acting in an irrational manner.”
Police continue that she could barely walk on her own and was not properly dressed for the winter weather. She was subsequently arrested for being intoxicated in a public place, and taken into custody. She was released when sober with a Provincial Offences fine to pay.

* A Barrie man, 34, is facing a charge of Utter Death Threats following a reported domestic dispute, Monday afternoon. Police report they took a “frantic 911 call” from a female at a north-end residence saying that she was in a domestic dispute with her husband. Upon arrival at the residence, police report they found the husband outside the residence. The female said he had threatened to kill her, police report. He was subsequently charged and held for a bail hearing.
* Early Sunday evening, police responded to a call about “a young girl who was out of control.” When they arrived, police say, they were met by an irrational 18-year-old girl who was loud and swearing at police.” Police report she was trying to fight with the officers and was yelling obscenities and threats at her mother. As the officers were attempting to get her out of the location, she spat at her mother, police report. She was arrested, charged criminally with Assault and utter Threats and was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
* Saturday afternoon, police attended a residence in response to a domestic situation. Upon arrival the officers interviewed a female who advised that she had been assaulted by her common-law partner. The officers observed minor injuries to her face. As a result, a 65-year-old male was arrested and charged with assault. The male was held for bail.
* On Friday evening police they were called to the area of a Mapleview Avenue East and Bayview Avenue gas station in regards to a suspected intoxicated male filling up his vehicle. Prior to police arrival this male drove off and managed to proceed northbound on Highway 400, police report. Several more calls were received regarding this driver. He was located at the Duckworth Street exit where he was stopped and investigated. A 53-year-old Toronto resident was arrested and taken into custody. The accused provided two samples of breath that were in excess of three times the legal limit, police report. He was charged with Impaired, Over 80mgs, Drive Disqualified and Fail to Comply Probation. He was released when sober.
