Police locate and charge Barrie man

Taking off from the scene of an accident didn’t prevent a Barrie man’s day in court.
Monday, police responded to a collision at the intersection of Mapleton and Marsellus. When they arrived, police were informed that one of the parties involved in the accident had fled, lat seen southbound on Mapleton.
Officers soon located a damaged car fitting the description. A quick search of the area located the owner of the vehicle, who was subsequently arrested for impaired driving.
The man, 38, was taken to the police station and required to provide two breath samples, which resulted in readings almost double the legal limit, police report. He faces a March court date.
