Pepper spray used to subdue man

It took a blast of pepper spray to subdue a Barrie man, who police say had become combative after being ejected from a north-end bar, Thursday night.
The incident began when bar staff attempted to eject an intoxicated male from the premises. He refused to leave and Barrie police were called. The male still refused to leave and police attempted to place the male under arrest under the Trespass to Property Act.
He, say police, became combative with them, but was eventually subdued using pepper spray. The male, 22, was charged with assault to resist arrest and breach of probation. He was held in cells until sober and released with a future court date.
