Passenger transfers to police station

A concerned citizen helped Barrie police locate an “extremely intoxicated” male who had boarded a city bus after punching and kicking the citizen’s car.
Police took a call Tuesday night in regards to a male had kicked and punched the caller’s car while he was stopped. The caller tried to drive away and the male grabbed the roof racks while the vehicle was in motion. The male eventually loosened his grip and the caller was able to proceed.
After the male boarded a city bus, the caller, concerned about the driver’s safety, called police. The caller followed the bus, helping police locate the male.
Immediately upon arrival, police determined that the 28-year-old Barrie man was extremely intoxicated. He was arrested and returned to the police station for being intoxicated in a public place, and later released.
