Operation Impact comes to Barrie

Motorists have even more reason to ensure they are following the rules of the road as local police participate in a National Road Safety Program, Oct. 11-14.
The Barrie Police Service will partner with police services across the country for ‘Operation Impact,’ during which heightened vigilance will focus on impaired driving, aggressive driving, distracted driving, and seat belt infractions.
Police encourage motorists to drive safely, so that no harm comes to them or others.
“Officers will be utilized during this Thanksgiving weekend with a zero tolerance approach to target those driving unsafely in our community” says Chief Kimberley Greenwood. “I encourage all motorists travelling within the City of Barrie to slow down, drive safely, and pay particular attention to their driving so that we can achieve the goal of safer roads within our City.”
