No plate sticker leads to series of charges

Getting pulled over for an expired licence sticker turned out to be the least of a Barrie man’s worries as he now faces a variety of charges, including impaired driving and driving without insurance.
On Wednesday a Barrie officer noticed a vehicle on Tiffin Street that had an expired sticker on the plate. When pulled over, police say the driver advised the officer he had no licence or insurance for the vehicle.
It was soon discovered that the driver was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for breaching his probation order in Barrie. And, the officer also detected the strong smell of alcohol coming from the driver, police report.
He was arrested and charged with impaired driving and taken to the police station. He now faces five charges: driving a motor vehicle with no licence; drive motor vehicle without insurance, impaired driving; over 80 mgs; fail to attend court (regarding his probation order).
