Man’s unwelcome attention earns charge

A Barrie man, 35, is facing a criminal harassment charge after a woman reported that he continued to send her emails, despite being cautioned by police not to do so.
The woman went to the police station to report the emails continued to arrive. Police say the man and woman have never dated, and that they had spoken to him earlier, “and advised him to stop all communication as it was not welcome.”
He was arrested and charged Saturday following his failure to heed their advice, police say, adding the woman was not injured but was concerned for her safety.
