Man turned over to Toronto police

Police responding to a report about dogs being hit on Essa Road turned up no visible signs of abuse, but led to the arrest of a male wanted by Toronto police.
On Monday, Barrie police took a call about two males allegedly abusing their dogs. When police arrived they found two males and their Bull Mastiff dogs, but no signs of abuse.
However, police found one of the males “extremely evasive” when being spoken to by police. The name he provided was found to be false, say police. When his true identity was discovered he was found to be wanted on outstanding warrants in Toronto, as well as with immigration.
He was turned over to the Toronto Police Service to answer to several drug and assault-related charges.
