Man charged with uttering threats against sex worker

A 44-year-old Barrie man has been charged with Uttering Threats following an alleged incident on Friday, Feb. 26.
Members of the Barrie Police Service Human Trafficking Unit commenced an investigation after receiving information that a sex trade worker advertising in Barrie had been the recipient of unsolicited threats.
As a result of the investigation that followed, a suspect was identified and charged. The male was transported to headquarters and later released on an Undertaking with specific conditions, and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie in April.
The Barrie Police Human Trafficking Unit is committed to ensuring the safety of all community members and encourage sex workers to come forward with any concerns they may have.
