Heavy foot nets youth stunt driving charge

Having a heavy foot on the accelerator earned a Barrie youth more than a normal speeding ticket. He is facing a stunt driving charge after being clocked at 108 km-h in a 50 km-h zone.
The 17 year old was caught speeding on Bayview Drive. The charge also means the youth’s license was suspended for seven days, and his car impounded for seven days as well.

A couple at home watching television Wednesday night were startled by three uninvited males, who came in through the unlocked front door.
Their faces were covered, and according to the residents, they each had a pistol. They demanded cash or drugs, obtaining some cash and the victim’s vehicle.
The trio of bandits fled and police later recovered the vehicle abandoned on Highway 400. The investigation continues.
