Driver wakens to over .80 charge

If you are going to have a snooze in your car, with headlights on and engine running, in the parking lot of a closed KFC, you probably shouldn’t be surprised if police ‘drop by’ to see what’s up.
According to Barrie police, that’s what happened just after midnight, Thursday, at the KFC on Bayfield Street.
Wondering if someone was in distress, an officer approached the car and noticed a male asleep in the driver’s seat. Turns out, he was also under the influence of alcohol, say police.
A roadside screen rest was administered, which the male, 46, failed. He was arrested for Drive over .80, taken to the station and released when sober with a future court date.
