Drive thru visit leads to arrest

The urge for late night munchies apparently played a role in helping Barrie police apprehend a drunk driver.
Wednesday night around 11:40, police got a report of a man in a vehicle at the drive thru window of a Bayfield Street eatery, with an open case of beer in the front seat. Officers stopped the vehicle and spotted the beer, police report.
The driver was suspected of being under the influence and was subsequently arrested for impaired driving. Apparently, according to police, the driver had gone to a drive thru on Highway 11, but found it closed. He then drove to the Bayfield Street location, police say.
The male, 54, was taken to the police station for a breath test, which registered in readings of double the legal limit of 80 mgs of alcohol, police say
