‘Disturbance’ lands Barrie man in jail

A Barrie man was arrested for causing a disturbance at the Barrie Public Library, behaviour that continued following his release.
On Wednesday, Barrie police responded to a report of a male creating a commotion at the library. Upon investigation, a 44-year-old male was arrested for causing a disturbance.
He was transported to the police station and “lodged in cells where he continued to act out, eventually flooding the cells after backing the toilet up with his clothing.”
After calming down, the man was released with a future court date. He then proceeded to the plaza directly across from the police station where he again began acting out, yelling, screaming and damaging property.
Police once again arrested the man, charing him with causing a disturbance. This time he is being held pending a bail hearing.
