A Barrie boy crossing the street at the intersection of Livingstone and St. Vincent streets was struck by a vehicle driven by a man who was charged with impaired driving.
Police report the driver, a 49-year-old Barrie man, “blew well over the legal limit.” The boy, 15, was treated at Royal Victoria Hospital for injuries which were not life threatening.
The driver was arrested and transported to the police station. He was charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm and faces a future court date. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was seized for seven days. The incident occurred Friday.
