Barrie youths face conspiracy charges

Two Barrie youths are facing serious charges relating to a Facebook conversation, police report.
The youths, both 15, were arrested and charged with a number of offences, including conspiracy to commit murder, after the online conversation, which reportedly took place two weeks ago, was discovered, police say.The youths reportedly named students and teachers from a Barrie high school as potential victims, police report.
Police investigated as soon as they became aware of the situation and, they say, took appropriate steps. “At this time there is no safety concern for students or teachers attending the school,” police report.
The youths are also charged with uttering threats and conspiracy to commit sexual assault. Police are reminding youths that it is a serious offence to make threats through any form of communication, including online and social media, and say that parents should be monitoring the online activity of their children.
