Barrie youth cools heels at cop shop

A Barrie youth spent some summer time cooling his heels at the police station yesterday following an alleged assault at Centennial Beach.
Police dropped by the beach after receiving a complaint about a disturbance. When they arrived they discovered that a young male had been assaulted by another young person.
The suspect, 16, took off and police gave chase. They caught up with the youth after a short foot pursuit. It was found that the youth was on probation with conditions of which he was breaching, say police.
Police took him to the station where he was held pending a bail hearing.
