Barrie police seize $20,000 in cash

Providing Barrie police with a false identity failed to conceal the real name of a man wanted by Toronto police on a number of charges, police report.
On Saturday, Barrie police investigated a “criminal offence in relation to a Bradford Street address.” A vehicle that had been at the residence was followed and stopped by police. One of the occupants, police report, provided false identification. When his true identity was ascertained, he was found to be wanted by Toronto police “on several outstanding arrest, drug warrants and had conditions to remain within his residence in Toronto.”
He was subsequently arrested for breaching his release conditions, obstructing police and assault by resisting arrest. A second male in the vehicle was arrested for obstructing police.
When the vehicle was searched, more than $20,000 in cash was found and seized by police under proceeds of crime. The investigation continues.
