Barrie police launch toy drive

The season of giving kicks off at the Barrie Police Service with the launching of their annual Holiday Toy Drive.
Partnering with the United Way of Greater Simcoe County, the police service will be accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys, as well as gift cards, on Saturday, Dec, 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., outside the Walmart on Mapleview Drive.
The service will be out in full force, with the command post and patrol cards on display during the drive. Officers will be volunteering their time to collect toys during the drive.
The United Way will distribute toys collected to deserving families throughout the region. Donations, including gift cards, can also be dropped off at the service’s offices at 60 Bell Farm Road, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., until Dec. 9.
