Barrie police investigate knife wounds

Update: Barrie police have arrested and charged the 22-year-old male involved in this incident with three criminal charges:carrying concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, aggravated assault. The male was released with a future court date.

Barrie police continue to investigate a reported ‘knife fight’ between two local men.
The investigation stems from an incident on Monday when police responded to a reported altercation between two men, 22 and 29.
Police report that prior to their arrival the 22 year old had left for the Royal Victoria Hospital to be treated for knife wounds to his arm. He was transported to Toronto Western Hospital for treatment and later released.
The other male was taken to the RVH and treated for knife wounds to his abdomen area, police report. Following surgery the male was reported to be in stable condition. He was on parole which, police say, has been revoked.
Police say the investigation continues and charges may follow.
