Barrie police investigate double stabbing

Barrie police continue to investigate a double stabbing that occurred in the downtown area, just east of the Five Points, early Friday night.
About 6 p.m. police responded to a call about a man on Dunlop who was bleeding. When they arrived police determined the man had been stabbed several times.
As they were providing first aid, a call came in about a second man, near Ross and Mary streets, who was also bleeding. He was subsequently found to have also been stabbed.
Police determined that the stabbing had occurred in the area of 15 Dunlop Street East. A suspect was located and arrested.
The victims, 23 and 29, were taken to the RVH and then to a Toronto hospital where they reportedly remain with non-life-threatening injuries. The victims are from Barrie and the suspect, 20, from Toronto, police say.
He is facing numerous charges and will be in court Monday for a bail hearing. Police ask that anyone downtown at the time of the incident, and who may have relevant information, to contact the Criminal Investigation Division.
