Barrie police charge a wanted man

A routine traffic stop by Barrie police on Wednesday netted a person wanted by several police services.
City cops stopped a vehicle for an HTA infraction near Bayfield and Rose streets. Upon investigation, it was discovered that a passenger, 46, in the vehicle was wanted on warrants. He was arrested on three counts of fraud under and two counts of personation.
The charges, police report, stem from from an incident in February 2010, where he used another person’s name while purchasing goods from a south-end store.
After being released on the Barrie charges with a future court date, the male was turned over
to Nottawasaga OPP due to a warrant for break and enter in their jurisdiction. The Waterloo Regional Police were also notified, as he’s also wanted in that region for fraud under.
