A local man, 50, is facing impaired driving charges after being stopped by Barrie police Wednesday night.
An officer on patrol noticed a vehicle at a stop light at Dunlop and Ferndale, stopping the vehicle to investigate the driver. The officer came to the conclusion that the driver was “operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol,” police report.
The man was arrested and transported to the police station, where his blood alcohol concentration registered two times the legal limit, police say. He was released from custody with a court date, a 90 day licence suspension and seven day vehicle impoundment.
