Barrie cops seize drugs and cash

A couple received a real-life education in police work when the city’s drug unit search a Donald Street residence and discovered cash and drugs.
A male, 38, and a woman, 38, were watching an episode of ‘Cops’ when police came calling with a search warrant. Officers seized about $25,000 worth of cocaine, $5,000 in cash and a small amount of marihuana.
A Toronto man and a Barrie woman now face charges of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine and possession of marihuana. The male is also facing two additional charges of failing to comply with a court order.
These charges stem from the male being arrested previously for possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, and on two occasions being ordered by the court to abstain from being in the County of Simcoe.
Police advise residents that if they observe suspicious activities at a house or business they feel may be drug trafficking, to call the Barrie Police Drug Enforcement Unit or Crime Stoppers.
