A package sent through a courier service contained more than greetings from afar, say police.
On Thursday, officers from the Barrie Police Drug Enforcement Unit, with cooperation from a local courier service, intercepted a package containing nearly six pounds of pot. The marijuana originated in British Columbia and was destined for a Hillsdale address, police report.
Friday, the package was picked up, say police, and the suspect took it to his residence. Police got a search warrant for the residence, resulting in the seizure of pot, cannabis resin and ecstasy with an estimated street value of $12,000.
The suspect was charged and faces an October court date.
