Arrests made in suspected home invasion

Three males, one armed with a chainsaw, broke into a home early Saturday morning, police report.
Police arrived at the residence after receiving a call about a home invasion. The suspects fled the area in a pick-up truck, but were located by police a short time after and arrested. Police deemed the incident to be drug-related.
Three men in their 20s from Barrie have been charged with: break and enter, weapons dangerous, assault with weapon, utter death threats, and obstruct police.

In other police news:

• On Friday, police were called to a coffee shop in regards to a male up on the roof. When they arrived, police learned the same male had been trespassed from the coffee shop one week prior due to a similar incident.
Police located the 18-year-old male on the roof and brought him back down to safety. Police then placed the male under arrest for trespassing at which time the male became combative and bit one of the officers, say police. The male was later charged with assault police with intent to resist arrest and mischief under $5,000.

• The Barrie Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a male in connection to the theft of a donation box that occurred at the Community Wholeness Centre in Barrie.
On Sunday, March 27th, 2016 shortly after 1 p.m. an unknown male entered the centre located at 59 Maple Ave. The suspect is observed on video covering a donation box with a coat and exiting the centre, heading northbound on Maple.
He is described as: a white male, 6’0″, 180 lbs, blonde/white hair, dark goatee and wearing a White/black/grey hooded jacket, black pants, and brown shoes.
