Barrie police, along with city ambulance, received a call Wednesday night as citizens were concerned about a female walking in the downtown area.
It was reported that the female was carrying an alcohol beverage in her hand and was having difficulty walking. Police arrived on scene and did locate the 51-year-old female lying in a snowbank. She was unable to care for herself and was arrested for her own safety.
The female was returned to the Barrie police station where she was held until sober.
