Trillium funds for Barrie foundation

The Barrie Community Foundation and three others in Simcoe County have received $175,000 from the Trillium Foundation for a marketing person and funding for software suitable for all of the foundations.
The Barrie foundation has joined with the Orillia Community Foundation, the Huronia Community Foundation, and the Bradford/Gwillumberry Foundation for combined administration and marketing purposes. The foundations are structured as a “charity for charities” to provide stable funding, through endowments, to groups working within the communities.
A presentation of the funding was held at Grove Park Home on Wednesday. The home has an endowment with the Barrie Community Foundation, specific to Grove Park Home. This endowment is open for gifts from all interested people who are looking to the future needs of Grove Park Home, and the seniors in Barrie and Simcoe County.
The Trillium grant is to cover expenses for 30 months. Watch for further news about how you can donate to the Grove Park Home Health Care Endowment. A new Barrie Community Foundation website is also expected to be launched in the coming weeks.
