Fireworks cap off Promenade Days

If it’s the Canada Day weekend in Barrie, then it’s time for the annual stroll through downtown during Promenade Days. The Downtown Barrie Business Association annual street fest sees the downtown core from Toronto to Clapperton streets turn into a pedestrian mall, complete with sidewalk patios and outdoors shopping displays.
The event also features a series of concerts and events scheduled for the main stage at Memorial Square. Performers include George Olliver and tributes to the Rolling Stones, Bee Gees, Elton John, and Blue Rodeo. The weekend is capped off with the annual Canada Day fireworks display, set to go 10 p.m. Monday.

• THE DALEKS: Edgy and surprising performances of an eclectic mix of Rock, Soul and R&B by this popular band from Owen Sound – 3-4 p.m.

• SKY TERMINAL: Exciting, contemporary Rock trio from Toronto performing original songs sung by a great lead vocalist – 4:30-5:30 p.m.
