The store clerk told police that a lone male suspect entered the location and was armed with what appeared to be a kitchen knife. He demanded money and did obtain an undisclosed amount of cash. He immediately fled the scene on a skateboard towards Essa Road.
Police responded and a K9 search of the area was conducted with negative results.
The suspect is described as male, white, possibly in his early 20s, 5’6”, slim build, slim face, clean shaven, wearing black zippered up hooded jacket, with large diagonal checkers on the two front pockets, black or navy athletic pants with two vertical stripes along the legs, dark toque with circular logo on the side, and wearing large, oval, thin framed reading type glasses, and dark coloured shoes.

• On Thursday, Barrie Police and Emergency Response Services responded to a residential address on Queen Street in Barrie for an injured male.
A 56-year-old male was located in the backyard of his residence with trauma to his chest. The male was initially transported to the Royal Victoria Hospital and subsequently to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto for further assessment. The male is being treated and is listed in stable condition.
