Barrie police have released a sketch of a man wanted in connection with a “home invasion type” robbery that happened Saturday about noon at a Barrie residence.
At noon on Saturday, a male allegedly knocked on the door of the residence, pushing his way inside, police report. The two male victims report that the suspect was armed with a black handgun. He threatened to shoot the men, repeatedly striking one in the head and face with the gun, police report.
After obtaining cash, the suspect left, but “was chased by the victims and was observed entering a vehicle which sped out of the area,” police report.
The suspect is described as a black male, 6’2″, 200-210 lbs with a muscular build, approximately 26-27 years old, short dark hair, facial hair, scruffy appearance wearing a “bubble” type winter vest, green long sleeved shirt, police report. The suspect vehicle is described as an older beige or tan minivan with a licence similar to BEJV 968 – there is no description of the driver of this vehicle.
