Police calm tensions at accident scene

Police arrived in the nick of time, it seems, to prevent a ‘dialogue’ between two motorists from turning physical.
At about 10:30 last night, police received a 911 call in relation to a motor vehicle accident at Bayfield Street and the 400 Highway. Witnesses advised police that the involved parties were about to engage in a physical altercation at the scene.
As officers arrived, they calmed those involved down, and determined that an eight-year-old occupant of one of the vehicles was injured. Simcoe Paramedics were called to the scene and attended to the female for her non-life threatening injuries.
The matter was investigated and vehicles were removed from the roadway, allowing traffic through the area again.
