Pedestrian struck, and charged

The onset of winter conditions has caused havoc on the roads for many, including police who responded to a number of calls.
Police were busy in the early morning hours responding to motor vehicle collisions. Around 6:30 this morning, officers responded to a call in the Big Bay Point Road and Hurst Drive area about a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle. Through investigation it was revealed that the pedestrian was transferring from one bus to another. As the pedestrian ran across the road to catch his next bus, he failed to see a motorist travelling in the lane of traffic.
The pedestrian subsequently was struck by the vehicle.The pedestrian was transported to the hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
At the conclusion of the investigation, it was revealed that the pedestrian was at fault and was charged by police under the Highway Traffic Act.
