Simcoe County LINX service is connecting communities across the county

By now they are a familiar sight on the roads and highways of Simcoe County, connecting communities to one another. Blue and white with the word LINX boldly displayed on them, these stylish buses provide a cross-county transit service that’s gaining traction.
Launched in the summer of 2018, the LINX Transit Service’s initial Route 1 offered transportation from Penetanguishene/Midland to Barrie, and back again. That was the start of a five-year plan to add additional routes. Three more routes are now in service:
• Route 2 serving Wasaga Beach, Stayner, Brentwood, Angus to Barrie and operating Monday to Friday
• Route 3 serving Orillia to Barrie and operating Monday to Friday
• Route 4 serving Wasaga Beach to Collingwood and operating 7 sevens days a week, including Statutory Holidays.
“We’re officially in the transit business and we’re pleased to offer another crucial public service to our residents and communities,” Warden Gerry Marshall said when the service was being launched.
“Route 1 (was) just the first stop on an ambitious plan to link our municipalities across the region and connect residents to health services, jobs, education centres and retail hubs in other communities.”
