Lifeguards hit the beaches in Barrie

Summer officially comes to Barrie beaches and pools with the arrival of lifeguards on Thursday. Lifeguards will monitor three locations in the city each day.
The tall chair will be coming to Centennial Beach 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., weather permitting. Lampman Lane Outdoor Pool, in Letitia Heights beside Andrew Hunter Public School, will be supervised daily for recreational swimming and an instructional program. Johnson’s Beach is on the same lifeguard schedule as Centennial.
There will be no supervision at other waterfront parks or the splash pad at Heritage Park. For more information contact Robin Rankin, leisure, transit and facilities department, at 705-739-4220, ext: 5740.
