Kidney Walk aims to raise funds

Barrie and area residents are being invited to take part in the Kidney Walk 2015, being held in communities across Ontario.
The walk is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 13, beginning at St. Vincent Park. Organized by the Kidney Foundation of Canada, the walk will raise funds to help people battling kidney disease.
It’s reported that one in 10 Canadians has kidney disease and millions more are at risk. Nearly 10,000 Ontarians depend on life-sustaining dialysis treatments several times a week, more than 1,000 are waiting for a kidney transplant, and countless others live with reduced kidney function that may have gone undetected.
Register online at Walks are taking place in 41 communities in Ontario throughout September and early October. Participants can also register at the park, from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
