Eadie running in Ward 8

The field competing for the Ward 8 council seat is getting crowded, with a former municipal politician throwing her hat into the ring.
Alison Eadie has registered to run in the Oct. 25 municipal election, as a candidate in Ward 8. She joins Jennifer Robinson, John Webb and Don MacNeil in the race for the position.
Ghulam Jilani and Don McLaurin are also registered to run in Ward 8.
The introduction of Eadie to the campaign adds another wrinkle to what has become a very interesting campaign. Eadie is executive assistant to MP Patrick Brown, himself a former councillor and a prominent and visible participant on the local scene.
Just last week Brown was active in a campaign to entice Robinson to run in the ward, serving as an administrator on a Facebook ‘draft’ Robinson site, which has now become an ‘elect’ Robinson page.
A former member of Brown’s team is also running for election. Bonnie Ainsworth, listed on the MP’s website as being in charge of correspondence, is running in Ward 1. In a comment to City Scene Barrie, the candidate said she resigned her position with Brown’s team on Sept. 9
Ainsworth is another former municipal politician, having served from 1997 to 2003.
