Colts on recovery road?

The Barrie Colts were saved from the ignominy of going winless coming out of their fifth game of the season, rescuing some respectability with a 5-3 victory over the Belleville Bulls, Wednesday night in Belleville.
It took the return of Darren Archibald to lift the Colts onto, hopefully, the recovery road. He scored twice to shoulder his team into the win column. Where was he for the first four games? On the sidelines serving a five-game suspension resulting from last spring OHL finals.
He’ll be a welcome addition to the lineup; he’s coming off consecutive 25-goal seasons, and demonstrated Wednesday he clearly hasn’t lost his touch around the net.
Another high point for the Colts, and perhaps a sign of future success, was the hat-trick netted by rookie Dylan Smoskowitz. Peter Di Salvo was the man between the pipes for the Colts, stopping 31 of the 34 shots sent his way.
The Colts next see action Friday in Kitchener when they suit up against the Rangers. The Niagara IceDogs visit Barrie Saturday. Fans will be treated to a Colts’ banner raising ceremony, hoping that the event foretells a successful run to the playoffs.
