City council update – June 28

Tonight, June 28, Barrie’s general committee tackles a number of issues, including Bayfield Street redevelopment, eliminating the GO Train whistle at level crossings in Barrie, the appointments to Barrie municipal non-profit housing corporation board of directors, and waste-diversion programs. The meeting is scheduled to kick off 8 p.m. At council, which starts at 7 p.m., bylaws to be ratified include a land-use control bylaw, a tax mitigation strategy for properties within the Barrie-Innisfil Boundary Adjustment Act area, the appointment of municipal law enforcement officers, and rules relating to abandoned shopping carts.
