Charges pile up for Barrie woman

Wednesday, a Barrie police officer observed a vehicle on Burton Ave. with improper licence plates.
The officer stopped the vehicle and found that the driver, a 30- year-old Barrie woman, had a suspended licence. Further investigation showed that there was an outstanding warrant for the woman for failing to appear court.
She was arrested on the strength of the warrant. After the officer arrested the female, she was found to be in possession of numerous prescription pills for which she had no prescription.
The woman was charged with using plates not authorized for the vehicle, driving while under suspension and possession of a controlled substance. She was held pending a bail hearing.
