Barrie police officer charged

A Barrie police officer has been charged with two Criminal Code offences following an investigation by the OPP, relating to off-duty conduct.
The officer has been suspended from duty and will be appearing in Bracebridge Court, Feb. 22.
“As this matter is domestic related, the name of the officer will not be released to protect the identity and privacy of the victim,” a press release says.
Published reports say the charges relate to sexual assault and that the accused is a 43-year-old officer.
