Barrie cabbie roughed up

A Barrie cabbie got more than he bargained for when he picked up a fare coming out of a downtown bar.
When he tried to evict the rowdy drunks from his cab, it seems they took exception to that and began assaulting him, police report.
The driver was reportedly taking the group from the downtown core to an address when the occupants, who had seemingly been drinking, began to swear at him. When the driver had had enough of their behaviour he pulled over and asked them to get out.
The group became increasingly hostile and proceeded to assault the driver, police report. The driver managed to get to a nearby residence and police were contacted. The driver was transported to Royal Victoria Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
At this time, the suspects have not been located. Anyone with information is asked to contact Barrie police.
