A refreshing intro to firefighters

Barrie Fire & Emergency Service is helping to keep families cool and safe this summer with its third annual ‘Hot Summer Nights’ campaign.
This community event is a refreshing way to increase awareness about fire safety, and offer residents the opportunity to:
• Meet firefighters in person and ask any questions surrounding fire safety;
• Check out the rescue vehicles and equipment;
• Have some fun getting “sprayed” with a cool mist by one of the trucks!
Barrie firefighters will be at the following locations every Thursday, weather permitting, between 6-8 p.m.:
• July 3: Sunnidale Park, between Cundles Road & Letitia Street;
• July 10: Pringle Park, Edgehill Drive & Miller Drive;
• July 17: Cundles West Park, at Emma King Public School;
• July 24: Leacock Park, Leacock Drive & Edgehill Drive;
• July 31: Cloughley Park, Sherwood Court, West of Ferndale Drive North;
• August 7: Shear Park, Innisfil Street;
• August 14: Painswick Park, Ashford Drive, East of Yonge Street beside Pope John Paul II Separate School:
• August 28: Lennox Park, Big Bay Point Road & Widgeon Street.
What could make cooling off with the spray of a fire truck even better? Pizza! Domino’s Pizza will also be onsite selling pizza for $1 a slice, with proceeds going to charity.
