Colin Wilson, Barrie Liberal candidate for the May 2 federal election, says that if elected, he wants to implement a commuter database on the Internet.
The online tool, he says, could accurately and quickly link commuters to provide cost savings in fuel and cut congestion on provincial highways.
“With modern GPS solutions, we can easily link people today to ensure door-to-door convenience. Such a system could quickly become a national service and it can be provided from Barrie,” Mr. Wilson said.
While a database could link commuters going to the same area, Wilson says they would likely still need to meet to determine compatibility, etc.
